Recent Updates to SimpleVMS

Here's a roundup of the biggest changes we made to SimpleVMS in October. Each item shows who it's for and whether you need to do anything to start using it. Looking for what's next? See Coming Soon.

    Available to Everyone

Already on. Nothing to set up.

    1. Schedules start on your work week

    For: Clients, Admins

Before: schedules always started on the same fixed day.
Now: team, worker, posting, and job title schedules start on your program's own work week start day.

    2. A faster Workers tab

    For: Clients, Admins

Before: the Workers tab could be slow, or time out, on large lists.
Now: it loads in smaller batches and is noticeably faster.

    3. Vendors see more job details up front

    For: Vendors

Before: vendors had to log in to find the work location, and they couldn't see the client's name.
Now: job emails include the worksite address, and job postings show the client name.

    4. Scheduled reports: future dates and custom names

    For: Clients, Admins

Before: scheduled reports could only start from today and all had generic names.
Now: you can schedule a report to start on a future date and give it your own name. The name also shows in the email subject.

    5. One rate rule can cover several locations

    For: Clients, Admins

Before: you needed a copy of the same rate rule for each department, district, site, or cost center.
Now: one rule in the Rate Scheduler can apply to several at once, and changes to a rule show up in the History tab.

    6. Invoice rejections now need a reason

    For: Clients

Before: an invoice could be rejected without explaining why.
Now: you'll be asked for a short note when you reject an invoice, so it can be fixed faster.

    7. Vendors can commit to a number of positions

    For: Vendors

Before: on a posting with several openings, vendors couldn't say how many they planned to fill.
Now: vendors can enter the number of positions they're committing to.

    8. Custom fields can be limited to certain sites

    For: Admins

Before: a custom field showed up everywhere.
Now: some custom fields can be limited to specific sites so they only appear where they apply. More field types will follow.

    9. Email addresses are checked

    For: Everyone

Badly formatted email addresses are now caught when they're entered, so they don't bounce later.

    10. Quicker punch entry

    For: Clients, Supervisors

When an OUT punch is missing, it now fills in 8 hours after the IN punch, so you only need to adjust it.

    11. Batch editing teams

    For: Clients, Admins

Changing a worker's team through Batch Edit now asks whether to update their current schedule too, just like the worker profile does.

    Available on Request

Off by default. Contact Support if you'd like one turned on.

    1. Default end date for new job postings

    For: Clients, Admins

More choices for the default end date on new job postings.

    2. Returning worker alert

    For: Clients

An optional email when a vendor submits someone who has worked for you before.

    Set up by Our Team

We turn these on for programs where they fit.

    1. Avionte Bold: custom fields sync both ways

    For: Vendors using Avionte Bold

Custom fields on job postings, candidates, workers, and requirements now pass between SimpleVMS and Bold in both directions. No action is needed on your side.

Have a question about any of these, or want a setting turned on? Contact Support.
